About IEC@DVC

Why IEC@DVC?

  1. No TOEFL required: Students who complete the Advanced B level receive a TOEFL waiver to Contra Costa College, Diablo Valley College, and Los Medanos College (no TOEFL score is required for transfer)
  2. Academic Bridge Program: Students have the option of taking IEC@DVC’s Academic Bridge Program, which provides three additional start dates at DVC and a smooth transition to DVC classes.
  3. Transfer success rate: More than 95% of IEC@DVC students continue on to university after IEC@DVC. Many attend Diablo Valley College, which is the #1 feeder school for UC Berkeley and UC Davis. Students also attend California State Universities and private institutions. 
  4. Many start dates: IEC@DVC offers flexible starting dates for its 8-week sessions (see the Academic Calendar).
  5. Easy application: The IEC@DVC application is simple: apply online now.
  6. Student services: IEC@DVC’s numerous student services provide students the support needed to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.
  7. Workshops: IEC@DVC provides many services for its students as they transition to life in the USA. Students can attend academic planning and training workshops to aid in understanding the enrollment, application, and transfer processes. 
  8. Campus tours: IEC@DVC often schedules guest speakers from local universities and organizes campus tours to schools such as UC Davis and UC Berkeley.
  9. Activities: IEC@DVC organizes social and cultural activities for students. From ice cream socials and free movie days to trips to local museums or amusement parks, there is always something happening after class!   10. Housing: IEC@DVC offers students the services of a Housing Coordinator who carefully selects warm and welcoming host families. Students also have the option of living in residential accommodations that are walking distance from Diablo Valley College.
